Lord Richard Faulkner, chairman of the commission, said: “It was an easy decision to promote from within, and we are confident that under Jorn’s leadership the AGCC will continue to go from strength to strength.

“Jorn has already, over many years, been a key player in the AGCC’s success as an online gambling regulator, and we are excited about this new chapter in the AGCC story.”

Starck said: “I am honoured to be offered this position and very excited about the opportunity to lead the AGCC.

“With the strong relationships I already have with industry, government and other stakeholders, together with the support of the commissioners and a very experienced team around me, I am very confident about the future of Alderney as an online gambling jurisdiction.”
