The states of Nevada and Delaware broke new ground yesterday when respective governors Brian Sandoval and Jack Markell signed a deal to create the US's first fully legal interstate online gaming partnership.

The two leaders signed the Multi-State Internet Gambling Agreement in Delaware state capital Wilmington on Tuesday morning, with Sandoval calling it a “moment of history.”

In a press conference, the two governors said the compact would help grow the pool of potential players, which would in turn increase liquidity in the game and revenue for the participating states.

For the players themselves, the i-gaming experience will look much the same as it does now and there have been no changes to rules about player location or verification. The deal will however see players from Nevada and Delaware playing alongside each other on virtual poker tables with a broader player base increasing the pool potential and improving the gaming experience.
