A prestige seaside location in the UK has become the latest high-profile venue to utilise Semnox’s park management software.

Clacton Pier

Clacton Pier in Essex, England, the 150me entertainment complex on the seafront that attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists annually, has gone live with the Semnox system.

The Parafait suite of applications will manage the pier’s cashless and ticketing operations. The location implemented Parafait’s entire Eco-System, including new multiscreen redemption system, self-service kiosks, park maintenance module, employee attendance module, mobile deducting agents, digital signage and a full-service food and beverage module with mobile POS and kitchen display system.

“We needed a good cashless system that required our solution partners to be innovative so we could stay on top of our competition and that’s exactly what I found with Semnox,” said Billy Ball, managing director, The Clacton Pier Company. “They listen to customers and are more than willing to make changes and add new features based on feedback given.

"Having reviewed several park management systems over a period of three years, I saw that most of the them were stagnant with their product functionality and had no substantial product development or improvements taking place. However, Semnox was not only able to fit to our needs as of today, but was also able to demonstrate that its product roadmap would help us achieve our goals in the future.

“The system works and performs well, is easy to use and does exactly what it sets out to do. In addition to the obvious benefits that operating such a system provides, we have also seen some surprise benefits. One area in particular where we have seen a benefit is using data from the system to defend fraudulent insurance claims or customer feedback. We have also been able to monitor technician attendance times at our rides, which helps us keep a track of costs and down time.”
