Clacton Pier at Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, one of the UK’s largest entertainment and amusement locations, has chosen Semnox’s Parafait suite of applications.
The pier offers a variety of attractions, including rides and bowling. Semnox is deploying its Outdoor Waterproof Wireless Readers for the rides, self-service kiosks, featuring an integrated card dispenser, bill acceptor and receipt printer for customers to purchase and recharge cards, and its Kitchen Display System to manage the location’s restaurant and digital signage.
The location will also use Semnox’s Android-based mobile POS to issue new cards and recharge existing ones on the go. “Considering our complex operations, we wanted a single system that could control the entire centre including our indoor and outdoor rides, restaurant and control the entry/exit at our sea aquarium,” said Billy Ball, managing director at the Clacton Pier Company. “Semnox’s Parafait suite of applications was the only one close to what we wanted with a price that could make sense for us to implement a cashless solution.”
Semnox vice president Umesh Prabhu welcomed Clacton Pier to the company’s growing customer base in Europe.
“A consolidated system can enable higher performance via greater efficiency and effectiveness,” he said. “The result is a system that is scalable and integrated throughout the centre, which will provide greater access to tools and data to support strategic business decisions.”
