The Indian state of Goa could introduce new legislation to regulate casino gaming.

Goa is home to a number of licensed casinos, several of which are offshore.

In a letter to the state assembly, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said the government is considering setting up a new gaming commission, the Times of India reports.

“Government is also considering bringing in comprehensive legislation in the matter of casinos,” he said.

This is expected to include new regulations governing the use of private gaming rooms and new standards for gaming machines.
