IGT unveiled its latest After School Advantage computer lab at Washington Elementary School in Lynwood in the US state of California with an official ribbon-cutting and opening ceremony.

IGT installs lab at California school

Guests at the launch included IGT senior vice president Scott Gunn and California State Assembly speaker Anthony Rendon.

Washington Elementary hosts about 90 students in its after-school programmes, assisting them with homework and tutoring sessions. The robot-equipped computer lab will aid students who might not have access to a computer at home after school.

The opening is part of a worldwide programme implemented by IGT in 1999 to serve at-risk youngsters in communities where the company does business.

“IGT is providing students with access to a powerful combination of educational resources and cutting-edge technology, opening doors to a vast range of opportunities and a promising future,” Gunn said.

“IGT is proud to support Washington Elementary School and the children of Lynwood through our ASA programme.”
