William Hill is suing Paddy Power Betfair’s FanDuel over allegations PPB blatantly stole content from WMH’s betting guide for beginners to use in its own guide.
The copyright infringement suit alleges PPB’s How to Bet Guide has the same hypothetical sports match-ups and even includes WMH’s name from the copied materials. FanDuel’s web pages include similar infringements, the suit said.
WMH is seeking unspecified damages and a permanent injunction over further use of copyrighted material.
A portion of any judgment will be donated to scholarships for creative writing programs in New Jersey if the court rules in WMH’s favor, William Hill US CEO Joe Asher told ESPN.
