UK bookmaker William Hill has enlisted a third-party technology firm to help rescue its beleaguered online division.
The move will reportedly lead to a £26m write-off of William Hill’s current in-house development team.
In a recent trading update, the company, which operates more than 2,200 betting shops across the UK, said it was performing strongly across its core retail and phone businesses, but that its bottom line remains plagued by ‘disappointing’ results in its online segment.
Unnamed industry observers said the new software firm is likely to be Orbis Technology.
