Sweden’s gambling regulator has rejected the addition of the troubled NinjaCasino.se domain to the licence of Finnplay subsidiary Viral Interactive.

Sweden

The Spelinspektionen stated in a ruling that it was “highly inappropriate” for Viral to have partnered with SafeEnt, the subsidiary of Global Gaming which had its licence revoked by the regulator after it identified failings regarding AML and social responsibility, along with Elec Games, Global Gaming’s Maltese arm which was found to have breached marketing rules.

“The agreements between, on the one hand, Viral Interactive Limited and on the other hand Elec Games Limited and between SafeEnt Limited and Elec Games Limited, which, among other things, aim to ensure legal marketing of the website ninjacasino.se, are not sufficient to create a necessary separation between Viral Interactive Limited and two players, each of which has committed serious breaches of the regulations,” the Spelinspektionen stated.

“The Gaming Inspection further considers that the chosen arrangement is not in accordance with the Gaming Act's suitability requirements at Viral Interactive Limited. In addition, the Gaming Inspectorate considers that a grant to the application would partly jeopardise the players being placed in a worse situation if the marketing business is run by Elec Games Limited, and that a grant would impair the authority's ability to monitor that Viral Interactive Limited complies with the rules that apply to the business.

“Against this background, the Gaming Inspectorate denies Viral Interactive Limited's application to add the ninjacasino.se website to its licence.”

Global Gaming’s licence in Sweden was revoked in June of last year, while earlier this year the company was granted a review permit of the case in Sweden’s Administrative Court of Appeal.
