The Scottish Professional Football League is considering a sponsorship deal worth £1.75m a year with online gambling company Fruity King, the Daily Record has reported.

The talks between SPFL head of partnerships Keith Campbell and a broker for Fruity King were confirmed by a Fruity King spokesman, who told the Daily Record: “It is an opportunity to position our brand as the focal point of the national game and the most prestigious prize in Scotland.”
However, an SPFL spokesperson stated that a deal has not yet been agreed with anyone. He said: “Talks are live with a number of brands regarding title sponsorship of the SPFL and these discussions will continue.”
Fruity King also claims to be in sponsorship negotiations with several English football clubs.
