It has been confirmed that Tote Tasmania is now part of Australia’s Tatts Group.
Following an announcement on December 1 to say that the acquisition had been agreed, Tatts yesterday confirmed the acquisition for AU$103m, which sees Tote Tasmania become part of the Australian company’s TattsBet pooling and fixed price wagering system.
The Tasmanian race wagering licence is for 50 years, plus an option for an additional 49 years at no additional cost. It offers exclusive access for 15 years to the Tasmanian retail wagering market through 26 TABs and 110 outlets hosted in hotels and clubs.
More than a third of the Tote’s staff have been made redundant in the process.
