Total gaming revenue for the year jumped by 10.9 per cent from the $5.21bn reported in 2022.

The record figure was steered by all-time bests for revenue in igaming and sports betting.

Igaming revenue for the year in the Garden State reached $1.92bn, 15.7 per cent higher than the $1.66bn posted in 2022.

And sports betting revenue hit $1.01bn in 2023, the first time the figure has gone past the one billion mark. That translated to an increase of 31.9 per cent from the 2022 figure.

However, land-based casinos posted the highest share of gaming revenue in New Jersey at $2.85bn, up 2.2 per cent from 2022, the state’s Division of Gaming Enforcement said.

The full-year results were compiled after the receipt of New Jersey’s December sports betting, igaming and land-based casino revenue.

There was an increase of 7.8 per cent for land-based casino revenue to $232.4m, while igaming revenue jumped by 19.1 per cent to $180.3m.

Sports betting revenue in December in the Garden State tallied $109.4m, a 24.8 per cent increase year-on-year.
