Quanta, the blockchain solutions for gaming company, founded in 2017 and the first licensed blockchain lottery operator, has announced its forward plans for the rest of this year and beyond.

The company, based in Hong Kong, will this year add new products and open up new market opportunities - notably in Africa - and develop fresh service offerings. At the end of last year Quanta implemented a strategic review that saw major changes to its management and structure, resulting in a narrowing of focus and improvement in productivity.
Harmen Brenninkmeijer, the new CEO, said: “I see enormous potential to build upon what Quanta and its previous team has accomplished technically. The company is moving out of technical feasibility to a more commercial focus. I have assembled a team of gaming product, regulatory and fintech experts that combine perfectly with Quanta Lab’s blockchain development capabilities. We are adapting our strategy and approach to give Quanta the opportunity to achieve its goals in 2020 and beyond as well as to deliver on stakeholder expectations.”
Brenninkmeijer has made some major changes, including introducing to his executive team Jason Yee as CFO - a seasoned banker. Ian Sherrington is CPO, well known for his creation of the code that ran the first internet sportsbook, Intertops.com. Also on the top management team is John Kamara, as managing director Africa, an expert in marketing and market acquisitions, and Stelios Michaelides joined the board with 40 years’ experience of management.
Key to the forward progress of the company is expansion in Africa, where Quanta wants to introduce and operate its Social Impact Lotteries (SILs), charitable lotteries using blockchain-based payments and control systems. The company is also developing a concept for Rewarding Games, that will change the standard approach to RNG-driven games such as slots. By adding an esports type approach to game mechanics, gameplay can be enhanced while reducing the potential for harm.
Expanding into Zambia, Quanta has acquired the majority of Pleasure Sports Zambia, a betting and smart solutions company.
