The Ministry of Public Security in Vietnam has uncovered an online gambling ring which has handled transactions of up to $470m, with single transfers of up to $5m.

The ring offered bets on a range of sports and reportedly transferred tens of millions of dollars abroad every day. Eight people have been arrested in Ho Cho Minh City and Hanoi.
The illegal activity was uncovered during an investigation by Vietnam's National High-Tech Crime Police Agency, known as C50, which collected evidence from across the country before making the arrests and seizing computer hardware and cash in raids.
