Nordic gaming operator Paf has lowered its mandatory loss limit, as well as the loss limit for customers aged 18 and 19, in a fresh responsible gambling effort.

The measures, which will come into effect in early summer this year, will cost the operator €7m.
Paf is lowering the mandatory loss limit to €17,500 from €20,000, with the change applying to all game categories and all gaming sites owned by Paf.
Meanwhile, the loss limit for the youngest of Paf’s customers will be reduced by 82 per cent.
Christer Fahlsted, CEO of Paf, said the moves are the operator’s “biggest investment in responsible gaming ever” and backed the changes to make a “noticeable difference in our numbers and customer segments.”
The change to the loss limit for young people “further strengthens our responsible gaming focus on young people,” said Paf’s deputy CEO and chief responsibility officer, Daniela Johansson, who added people aged 18 to 19 are “extra vulnerable” when it comes to gambling.
Fahlsted said Paf will continue to publish the numbers for customers’ winnings and losses – which it has done for several years – as well as explain how different customer segments have developed since 2017.
“We will set a standard for gaming companies when it comes to responsibility, a standard that other international gaming companies can and should follow,” he said.
