Recent research published by Statista has forecast the global online gaming market will be worth $41.4bn (£27.3bn) by the end of this year.
The 2015 total represents a tripling in the size of the market since 2005.
By the end of 2018, the total value of the mobile real-money gaming market is predicted to reach $100bn (£66bn).
It is forecast that in 2018, 164 million people will regularly use mobile devices to bet, play casino games or purchase a lottery ticket.
