The overall spend on gambling in Denmark fell by 3.4 per cent year-on-year in May, with online casino remaining the biggest vertical in the latest reporting period.

Igaming brought in DKK278m (£31.5m) in gross gaming revenue, rising 10.3 per cent from DKK252m (£28.6m) in May 2023.

Online casino generated 48.7 per cent of the DKK571m (£64.8m) in GGR for May 2024.

Betting represented the next biggest driver of Danish GGR in May, generating DKK164m (£18.6m), with gaming machine revenue of DKK96m (£10.9m) and land-based casino revenue of DKK32m (£3.6m) following behind.

Betting revenue and gaming machines revenue fell by 21.5 per cent and two per cent year-on-year, respectively, but revenue for land-based casinos rose by 3.2 per cent.
