Sports betting revenue in North Carolina, US, rose over 100 per cent month-on-month in January.

Figures from the North Carolina State Lottery Commission show that revenue from mobile operators reached US$74.5m in January, up 108.7 per cent from $35.7m in December.
Handle of $646.9m translated to a rise of 2.8 per cent from December.
As for tax revenue, this was $13.4m in January, up 108.7 per cent from December’s $6.4m.
North Carolina opened its doors to regulated mobile sports betting in March 2024 and is inching closer to its first full-year totals and year-on-year comparisons.
Compared with November, handle was down 1.6 per cent and revenue and tax were down 4.6 per cent.
