Eight potential licensees for North Carolina’s sports betting market are on track to go live in tandem with the launch date of March 11, it has been revealed.

North Carolina State Lottery Commission

As reported by Yogonet, North Carolina regulatory chief Sterl Carpenter said in a State Lottery Commission meeting on Tuesday that potential licensees are moving towards securing their licences by March 1, when they can begin registering users.

BetMGM and Penn Entertainment (ESPN Bet) – whose respective partnerships in the Tar Heel State with Charlotte Motor Speedway and Quail Hollow Club have already been revealed – are among them.

Yogonet added that Carpenter, of the State Lottery Commission’s Sports Betting Committee, confirmed that FanDuel and DraftKings are also set to go live alongside Caesars, which has a partnership with Tribal Casino Gaming Enterprise Cherokee.

The Sports Betting Committee also gave the green light to a voluntary self-exclusion program in North Carolina.

Bet365, Fanatics Betting and Gaming and Underdog Sports are also looking to go live in the state.
