Sports betting revenue in New York continued its recent decline in August, dropping from July’s figure of US$105.1m to $98.5m.

It represents a third month in a row that gross gaming revenue has struggled in the Empire State after May’s posting of $151.97m surpassed April’s $138.8m.

And the August figure was the lowest in 13 months since July 2022.

Sports betting handle in New York hit $1.1bn, up from August 2022’s effort of $872.2m and also better than July 2022’s $800.8m.

The handle also showed a rebound month-on-month compared to July's figure of $962.1m.
