Mobile sports betting handle in New York State, US, fell below US$2bn for the first time in six months in February.

The February figure of $1.98bn was a 20.4 per cent decline on January’s record of $2.48bn.

Year-on-year, handle rose 11.4 per cent from February 2024’s $1.78bn.

Online sports betting revenue in New York State in February was $184.8m, a 25.2 per cent decline on January’s $247m, which was also a record.

However, revenue rose by 40.6 per cent year-on-year from February 2024’s figure of $131.4m.

FY2024-25 handle and revenue have already surpassed last year’s totals with a month to go, ahead of the March 2025 figures.

Between April 2023 and March 2024, New York State attracted $19.89bn in mobile wagers. The current FY24-25 total without March is $21.5bn.

Likewise, total mobile sports betting revenue across that first timeframe was $1.78bn.

Ahead of the New York State Gaming Commission’s March 2025 report, that same figure for the regulator’s current financial year is $1.98bn.
