Self-exclusion assistance will roll out across four US states in August as part of the National Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program (NVSEP).

Safer gambling technology provider idPair, which is leading the launch in Colorado, Iowa, Michigan and Tennessee, said there will be “no changes to the respective state programs or how operators receive and process the self-exclusion information as part of this initiative.”

In the first phase of the NVSEP, states will have access to self-exclusion tools for casinos, online sports betting and casino and online poker, with fantasy sports and horseracing also supported.

Future phases of NVSEP, idPair said, will offer a “deeper level of integration” with operators’ player account management systems to ensure self-exclusions are “instantaneously processed.”

IdPair said its technology will facilitate a “major leap in efficiency” compared to the “current processing times in some existing programs.”

CEO of idPair, Jonathan Aiwazian, said: “For the first time ever, individuals seeking a wider level of protection can self-exclude from multiple states in a streamlined fashion.

“While today we announce our ability to provide free assistance with self-exclusion in each of these four states, more jurisdictions are on the way, as we accelerate toward our goal of removing barriers for people seeking protection across all gambling jurisdictions and products.”

Consumers are encouraged to contact the NVSEP to find out which products are supported in each state.
