New Jersey senators met yesterday to discuss refreshing the state's gambling industry.

The bill, which was introduced by Senator Raymond Lesniak early this year, was developed with the aim of using online gambling to help struggling racetracks and casinos in the state.

Over half a million residents of New Jersey already play online poker but regulating online gambling could provide the state with 20 per cent of gross gaming revenues from egaming sites, money that is much needed following the recession. It is reported that the revenue could also be used to help support Atlantic City casinos.
