MGM Resorts International has expanded its problem gambling support and awareness partnership with Kindbridge Research Institute.

The land-based and online casino and sports betting operator will donate US$180,000 to the Institute to support problem gambling studies, looking into fresh responsible gambling strategies.

The partnership extension will also see BetMGM expand its partnership with the Institute across the US.

MGM Resorts and BetMGM are also teaming up with the British Colombia Lottery Corporation (BLCL) and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) to promote responsible gambling messaging and engage with university Gaming Law students, respectively.

Rhea Loney, chief compliance officer at BetMGM, said, :Responsible gaming is a focal point of our operations, and we will continue to invest in programs that promote player protection and wellbeing.

“Expanding our partnership with Kindbridge ensures that essential support services are always within reach for those who need it."

Sarah Gonzales, director of graduate programs at the William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV, said: "Our collaboration with MGM Resorts has been a valuable learning experience for Boyd law students, enhancing their understanding of gaming regulations through real-world exposure.

“Exploring the GameSense program firsthand helps them grasp the importance of responsible gaming, especially as more jurisdictions require such important initiatives."

The extended partnership between MGM Resorts and BetMGM and Kindbridge marks Problem Gambling Awareness Month (PGAM) this March.

Additionally, MGM Resorts is contributing $60,000 to affiliated State Councils on Problem Gambling.

BetMGM has renewed its partnership with gambling harm education consultancy, Epic Global Solutions.
