Launched at this year’s Cannes Film Festival by UK film producer Sean O’Kelly and gaming industry expert Richard Clarke, the new venture will migrate iconic Hollywood feature films and branded intellectual property rights into the worldwide gambling and social gaming sector.

Since launching in May this year, Skyrocket has acquired the exclusive gaming rights to 75 iconic feature films and is in negotiations with major Hollywood film studios on a further 100 films, soon to be announced. The ambition is to bring up to 100 games per annum into the worldwide market.

Skyrocket aims to transform these stories and characters into new gaming content and products for social money gaming and real money gaming such as slots, instant games, bingo and lotto. Martin’s career includes founding Bonne Terre Limited, a licensed and regulated sports book in the Channel Islands which became a wholly owned subsidiary of BskyB Group PLC, operating as Sky Bet. CVC Partners announced in April this year the sale of Sky Bet for £3.4bn to The Stars Group, owner of PokerStars. Martin was also chairman of Probability Games Corporation, which was successfully listed on the London AIM in 2006, is recognised for his contributions to the establishment of gaming laws within several jurisdictions and is considered a pioneer of the online gaming and gambling industry. He said: “I’m enormously excited to be joining forces with this talented team – both top class individuals who bring expertise and proven track records within both the gaming and film business sectors. Skyrocket has a fun and social product which has tremendous growth potential by accessing our large userbases.”
