Genesis Global has had its licence suspended by the Malta Gaming Authority following a troublesome few weeks and months for the company.

Genesis announced in December that it would be wound up and laid off its remaining 140 staff. It could not promise pay for that month for those employees and those on notice periods.
Co-founder and CEO Ariel Reem publicly announced his departure from the company.
A Malta Gaming Authority statement read: “This sanction is being imposed upon the authorised person for having breached Reg. 9 (1) (f) of the regulations since the authorised person is being wound up.
“The authorised person is thus no longer authorised to carry out any gaming operations, register new players or accept new customer deposits, and must continue collaborating with the authority.”
