The Dutch Gaming Authority has imposed a €270,000 fine on Simbat Entertainment Systems for offering online games of chance, while also fining Spinity €100,000 for promoting such games.

The KSA found that Simbat had offered games of chance through at least 11 different websites, while Spinity acted as a“promotional agent” for Simbat.

The original decision taken by the KSA against the two companies was back in July 2017. After the parties objected both to the decision and the disclosure, the court of The Hague ruled against such a claim and as such, the KSA is only now able to publish its decision.

The current law in the Netherlands is that online games of chance are illegal, with participants not protected, while it is not possible to check for the fairness of games, the exclusion of minors and whether gambling addiction is prevented.
