Sports betting revenue in the US state of Indiana dropped eight per cent year-on-year to US$39.4m, but handle rose 15.6 per cent to $500.8m.

Month-on-month, handle climbed further – up 22.5 per cent from February’s $408.7m.

The month-on-month comparison was also a positive one for revenue, which rose by 3.8 per cent from February’s $38m.

The sports betting activity in Indiana in March delivered $3.7m to the state in taxes, down by eight per cent year-on-year from last March’s $4.1m.

However, as with the revenue and handle, tax rose by 3.8 per cent month-on-month from $3.6m to $3.7m.

Basketball was the state’s most popular state for wagering activity, attracting bets of $167.9m.
