The Indiana Senate has approved a comprehensive gambling bill, including sports betting, on a 38-11 vote.
Having started to consider sports betting legislation back in January, the current bill is a combination of bills that have been put forward by Sens. Mark Messmer and Jon Ford.
The bill would allow for mobile sports betting – a major success in New Jersey – in Indiana.
The Indiana Senate has also approved for Gary’s two casinos to move – one inland and the other possibly to Terry Haute.
The city of Gary wants to move the Majestic Star casinos from Lake Michigan to assist in developing the area’s potential as a transportation hub.
