The Gaming Regulators European Forum met for its annual conference in Riga, Latvia, over the weekend with the GREF chairman hailing the meeting a success.

Håkan Hallstedt said the event discussed “matters of mutual concern across all jurisdictions, such as cross-border crime, social gaming and various aspects of responsible gambling,” issues which, he said, “sit at the heart of regulation, whatever our national position might be.”
In attendance were 65 delegates representing 22 jurisdictions with panellists including members of the legal profession for the first time, alongside consultants and operators.
At the meeting, specific targets were set out for the coming year, which include developing a common understanding of the role of affiliates, sharing knowledge and experience of licensing regimes and considering ways of improve training.
