It has been reported that the UC Group, a lobbying organisation that represents 10 online gambling companies, has spent an estimated US$5.23m on lobbying the US government to overturn the ban on payments to gambling websites.
According to a report in The Telegraph newspaper, companies such as Partygaming, Sportingbet and PokerStars were pouring money into the UC Group to put pressure on Congress to change the current laws on gaming. They have also lobbied UK politicians in the hope that they will also help push for the legalisation of egaming in the US.
