Lawyers representing a number of defendants in the class action lawsuit against the owners of Full Tilt Poker have requested that they be removed from the case.

Senior partners of Ifrah Law Jeff Ifrah and David Deitch said in a motion made last week to the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York: "Continued representation of defendants would create unreasonable difficulty for us to carry out our employment effectively and would result in an unreasonable financial burden to our law firm."

There is speculation as to why they have chosen to withdraw from the case, including a lack of funds from Full Tilt, as well as delaying tactics.

Allegedly, the decision has no bearing on the rescheduled hearing, which will reconvene on September 19, to consider the Alderney Gambling Control Commission’s decision to suspend Full Tilt’s licence.
