The Netherlands Gambling Authority has revealed that under the Remote Gambling Act, licence applications that will cost €45,000 can be submitted from July 1, 2020.
While exact details of the licensing conditions have not been finalised as yet, the KSA stated that licences can be applied for in four types of game of chance: casino games, player-versus-player casino games, sports betting and horse racing and trotting betting.
Applicants must also have a representative present in the Netherlands in the field of addiction prevention as well as an appropriate policy in this area.
The exact date on which the Act comes into effect is not yet known.
Online games of chance are currently prohibited in the Netherlands.
