The Danish Gambling Authority has released the 2023 edition of its annual report describing the authority’s work with illegal gambling.
The aim of the report is twofold: to outline the updated rules for when a gambling product is legal in the country, and also to review the efforts made during the last 12-month period to combat illegal gambling.
“Looking at the increase in the number of searched websites, requests and blocks, it seems that the illegal market is on the rise,” reads the report’s summary. “However, it is still our assessment that the illegal market in Denmark is limited and that the increase is more an expression of the Danish Gambling Authority's increasing focus on the work with illegal gambling.”
The report goes on to mention collaboration initiatives the Danish Gambling Authority has formed with Apple, Facebook and Google. These collaborations allow for swifter reporting and removal of illegal gambling content it finds.
