The Danish parliament has finalised a bill to liberalise online bingo.

Following a consultation document, the final bill restricts the game to a 10-second pause when a win has been removed; cards cannot be bought earlier than 30 minutes before the start of the game (the consultation document called for 10 minutes) and the permitted format of the cards maximises the number that may be played at one time as four cards of 80 numbers or symbols.

A clarification has also been issued under which the rule against players choosing numbers on their cards did not imply that they cannot choose between cards.

Meanwhile, the country’s growth in betting and gaming continues, with the latest figures showing a nine per cent increase to €201.1m in the third quarter of the year.
