Gross gaming revenue (GGR) in the sports betting market in Colorado, US, rose 80 per cent year-on-year in February.

The latest figures from the Division of Gaming in the state’s Department of Revenue show GGR hit US$46.4m in February, up from $25.8m in the same month in 2024.

Although, the figure fell 23.9 per cent from January 2025’s $60.9m.

In the latest month, sports betting handle hit $496.6m, down 7.5 per cent from February 2024’s $536.99m and down from January 2025’s $657.2m.

Basketball dominated Colorado’s handle in February, attracting $163.99m in online bets and $1.1m in retail bets, collectively worth 33 per cent of the state’s total.

Of the total handle, $493.6m was wagered online and the remaining $2.99m in retail settings.

Online bets brought in $46.2m of the latest month’s total GGR, with retail betting accounting for the other $152,547 of GGR.

"After a record-setting January for sports betting, February continues to show growth with over $24.5m collected in fiscal year to date taxes," said Colorado’s director of gaming Christopher Schroder.

“A strong, safe and fair sports betting industry is good for Colorado and its bettors. The funds they raise each month are helping Colorado fund water conservation efforts.”
