Colombian regulator Coljuegos has approved Madrid-listed casino operator Codere to provide online sports betting through www.codere.com.co.
The operator, which has been present in the Colombian market for 33 years running machine rooms, bingo halls and casinos, is the latest to enter the Colombian market as Coljuegos continues to strengthen its regulation of online gaming and crackdown on illegal gambling operations.
Since moves to formally regulate online gaming in November 2016 the Colombian regulator has also issued igaming concessions to wplay.co, betplay.com.co, colbet.co and zamba.co.
Juan B Pérez Hidalgo, president of Coljuegos, said: "We want more operators obtain the authorisation of Coljuegos to achieve a strong sector that is in tune with the new technologies.”
