Churchill Downs, the US company that owns the famous Kentucky Derby horse race, is rebranding its BetAmerica sportsbook and igaming platform to TwinSpires.

The Kentucky-based company will move to a single brand strategy for its online wagering business starting with its Michigan operation later this month.
The BetAmerica retail and online sportsbooks operating in Colorado, Indiana, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey and Pennsylvania are all rebranding to TwinSpires. The name is not unfamiliar as it has been used for the company’s pari-mutuel wagering business since 2007.
Said president Bill Mudd: “Our TwinSpires brand has consistently delivered over 13 years and is associated with more than a century of wagering experience. That history and heritage offers a unique point of difference in a competitive space.”
Churchill Downs, in addition to owning the Kentucky Derby, has three pari-mutuel gaming entertainment venues in Kentucky and in its land-based operation has 11,000 slots and VLTs and 200 table games.
