US-based Bringlt LLC has beta-launched a new online betting site, which allows video gamers to bet against each other based on their gaming skills, playing head-to-head online for cash.

The UIGEA compliant model brings the world of video gaming and online gambling together, meaning video gamers can profit from the hours spent perfecting their skills on games such as Konami’s Guitar Heroes.

Gamers are able to play legally for real money and bragging rights against friends or players of similar skill level in a variety of game and match options.

The site works with any video game platform with online capabilities and with any game that supports online head-to-head competition. The site also supports a diverse portfolio of popular games for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and Nintendo Wii consoles.

Stakes can be set from US$1 up to $100,000 per game, with the entry fees held until the winner is declared, at which point funds are released to the winner’s account minus a 10 per cent rake to Bringlt.

The site is expected to be in full operation by the end of this year in nine of the US states.
