Online gaming operators in Brazil must now be registered on a consumer dispute portal to ensure better oversight over player complaints.

The Brazilian government said ensuring brands were integrated into the Consumidor platform will “guarantee greater security and reliability to the sector.”
Consumidor is a public service that allows direct communication between consumers and companies to resolve consumer disputes online.
Its website says it enables the resolution of any consumer grievances “quickly and without bureaucracy” – and that currently, 80 per cent of complaints are being resolved by companies, which respond to consumers “within an average period of seven days.”
The National Consumer Secretariat (Senacon), of the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP) oversees Consumidor.
National Consumer Affairs secretary Wadih Damous said having brands registered on the platform is a “fundamental step to ensure that gamblers’ rights are respected.”
“Now, Brazilians have a direct and efficient channel to register and follow up on their complaints, strengthening the balance in consumer relations.”
The Secretary of Prizes and Bets, Régis Dudena, said: "The participation of betting operators in the consumer.gov.br platform reflects the commitment of the Ministry of Finance to ensure that all practices are carried out in accordance with legal standards, with respect for consumer-bettors."
