A decree from Brazil’s Secretariat of Prizes and Bets puts four gaming advertisement laws into effect immediately, ahead of the country’s regulated market launch on January 1.

The restrictions rule that companies cannot advertise on channels where the majority of viewers are minors and adolescents.

Ads that use images of children are banned and all websites must display an age restriction symbol and messaging prohibiting the use of underage gambling.

There is a further restriction on sports betting operators, who are prohibited from sponsoring children’s teams or events.

The rest of the regulations surrounding advertising for online sports betting and casinos will go into effect once the market is live on January 1.
