A subsidiary of the operator group has obtained its first local licences for online casino and sports betting, which will cover the two brands.

Betsson said it expects a further licence to be obtained “soon” will allow Inkabet, a Peruvian-facing sports betting and online casino brand acquired in 2021, to operate in the actively regulating market.

Betsson president and CEO Pontus Lindwall said: “We have really looked forward to Peru introducing a local regulation and are very pleased with the issuing of these licenses. With this announcement, we affirm our commitment to the local economy and the new regulatory framework in the country."

Betsson began its operations in Peru in 2008 before the launch of Betsafe in 2019, with Inkabet following after its acquisition.
