MGM Resorts has begun its next phase of international expansion by launching its flagship online gaming brand, BetMGM, in the UK.

The operator, also owned by Entain in a joint venture, will use the LeoVegas tech stack following MGM’s acquisition of LeoVegas last year.
The product is available now in the UK on desktop and mobile web with further development, including mobile applications, planned. MGM said there will also be a national media launch in mid-September.
Gary Fritz, President of MGM Resorts International Interactive, said the company is “confident” that it can “duplicate” the “great success” it has had in the US and Canada with BetMGM in the UK.
“The UK is a mature online gaming market and we believe the BetMGM brand will provide distinct relevance to both sports bettors and igaming consumers,” he added.
Entain’s tech stack will still be used for BetMGM’s operations in North America.
MGM Resorts CEO and President Bill Hornbuckle said: “Today's announcement represents a key step forward in our international growth strategy, which has been advancing rapidly since our acquisition of LeoVegas."
