European lottery betting group myLotto24 is launching in Western Australia with a deal to share a slice of its profits with newsagents.

Under the agreement, 1,200 newsagents linked to the Victorian Newsagents Association, including dozens in WA, will pocket deposit and trailing commissions for providing an in-store payment service allowing myLotto24 customers to top up their lottery betting accounts.

“We believe that this partnership removes the need for a heavy handed ban on lottery betting in Australia as newsagents, who the proposed bill seeks to protect, will actually benefit now from this industry-led solution,” myLotto24 country manager Mikael Sundelin said.
