Astra, one of Novomatic's group of companies, has signed a new agreement with Sky Vegas, part of BSkyB's Betting and Gaming business, under which it will provide premium online gaming content on the Sky Vegas website and Sky TV interactive service in the UK.

The content is to be supplied via Novomatic’s remote game server system, NRGS, and will go live in the first quarter of 2009.

Commenting on the deal, Zane Mersich, managing director of Astra, said: “With the pedigree of game themes available in both Novomatic’s and Astra’s outstanding library it was critical that we formed a partnership with a provider that promoted the qualities and standards essential in delivering the games in a form that meets with the high expectations players have of Novomatic products.

“Sky Vegas was the only choice for the inaugural commercial deployment of NRGS.”

Richard Flint, managing director at Sky Betting and Gaming, said the company is aiming to offer its customers the best games currently available and is looking forward to a long and successful partnership with Astra.
