Frank J Fahrenkopf, president of the American Gaming Association, will be keynote speaker at the iGaming Super Show in Dublin in May.
Fahrenkopf is highly regarded as an expert and advocate of US gambling regulation and law. Well experienced in political affairs, he gained national prominence during the 1980s when he served as chairman of the Republican Party for six of President Ronald Reagan’s eight years in the White House (1983-1989). His early legal career included 17 years of practice as a trial and gaming lawyer in Nevada, his home state, which led to Fahrenkopf serving as the first chairman of the American Bar Association Committee on gaming law and becoming a founding trustee and president of the International Association of Gaming Attorneys, a worldwide organisation of government gaming regulators and private attorneys acting on behalf of licensed gaming enterprises.
The AGA represents the commercial casino entertainment industry, addressing current US federal legislative and regulatory issues affecting its members, employees and customers, such as federal taxation, regulatory issues and travel and tourism. In addition, the AGA provides leadership in addressing newly emerging US national issues and in developing industry-wide programmes on critical issues such as disordered and under-age gambling. The association is a well-established powerhouse in the American gaming industry, paving the way for the sector.
With a new Congress in power and millions of Americans still placing bets online, Fahrenkopf will be exploring the prospects for moving the issue forward, and how that progress will affect the global online gambling market.
