Absolute Poker co-founder Brent Beckley has been sentenced to 14 months' imprisonment by the US District Court in Manhattan for his role in processing illegal online gambling transactions.

Beckley, who was indicted in April last year with 10 other individuals, voluntarily returned to the US from Costa Rica in December to face charges against him and pleaded guilty to conspiring to break US laws against gambling on the internet and to a charge of conspiracy to commit bank fraud and wire fraud.

After surrendering, Beckley’s plea bargain reportedly included a prison term between 12-18 months, a US$300,000 forfeiture and a $30,000 fine.

Full Tilt Poker CEO Raymond Bitar surrendered himself to US authorities earlier this month and pleaded not guilty to charges against him.
