LAST year, the Supreme Court in the United States’ ruling that the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) was unconstitutional gave the green light for a host of major operators to enact long-standing plans in an untapped, vast market.
William Hill, which entered the US seven years ago in Nevada, opened a sportsbook in Monmouth Park last year and is working in each state where sports betting has become legal. Deals have been signed with IGT, Penn National and El Dorado Resorts and more recently became the NHL’s new sports betting partner.
