888 has confirmed its corporate rebrand to evoke plc will go ahead after the proposal was voted for by an overwhelming majority of shareholders at the gambling operator’s AGM.

The measure received the backing of 99.79 per cent of shareholders – 284.6 million – while only 0.21 per cent voted (595,372) against the move.
“Following approval of resolution 18, the company will formally change its name to evoke plc and will begin trading as LSE:EVOK upon completion,” 888 said in a statement published via the London Stock Exchange.
888 CEO Per Widerström revealed the name change plan in March alongside a value creation plan forecast to generate revenue growth of up to nine per cent per year.
He said: “We are at the beginning of an exciting new journey. We will build on our strong foundations through a clear strategy and focused plan that will deliver sustainable profitable growth and unlock significant value creation.”
