The Dutch trade association, the VAN, is due to meet on November 26 at the Hotel Schiphol close to the Amsterdam airport, when one of the topics of discussion is certain to be the depression caused in the market by the huge new taxes on gaming machine revenues imposed by the government.

The VAN is already taking legal action on the taxes, which have totally stopped the Dutch industry this year and plans to take the Dutch Government to the European Court to challenge the 27 per cent tax.

The VAN meetings are known for their product displays, which usually come from up to 15 companies and effectively turn the meetings into mini exhibitions.
